Your first experience with us will include a private rapport session of discovery. This will allow us to understand your expectations, as well as review your medical and dental history. It will also allow you to discover if we are the right practice that will meet your expectations. The comprehensive oral examination will include charting of all existing conditions. We will clinically examine all teeth for decay, perform a periodontal exam to check the supporting structures surrounding your teeth, and complete an oral cancer exam.
Your bite, as well as temporomandibular joints (the jaw joint), will be evaluated. We will take necessary digital images as well as impressions of your teeth, so that we may study your mouth after you have left the office. A portrait photograph will be taken, as well as intraoral digital images, which will allow you to see what we see.
We believe an in-depth examination is the cornerstone for providing you the most appropriate and best dental treatment. Please understand that no dental treatment nor any dental cleaning will be rendered at this appointment. If you have an immediate need, prior to your comprehensive "new patient" visit, please call our office to schedule an appointment for urgent care and we will direct our efforts to quickly make you comfortable and address your immediate needs.
Following your "new patient" exam appointment, we will review the information gathered and consult with you to discuss all treatment options. Together we will work out an appropriate plan for your dental health in a time frame suitable for your needs, We feel that quality should be the constant and time the variable.
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the initial visit. We encourage patients coming for consultation to bring spouses or significant others.
Ousborne & Keller is open Monday through Thursday from 7:50 a.m. until 4:50 p.m. We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you have pain or an urgent situation, every attempt will be made to see you that day. True emergencies will be seen immediately.
We plan the schedule carefully to stay on time and minimize patients waiting. However, because we provide many types of dental services, various unforeseen circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for a procedure. Emergency situations can also arise and cause delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience when this occasionally happens.
